The flying car which can drive ,fly and automayically transform between the two in 60 seconds is coming in 2011  developed by Terrafugia Transition .This is twoo seater vehicle completed its first flight last march and recently completed 27 additional flights, wrapping up the first four stage process to bring the transition into production.

At 7:40 a.m. on March 5, the winged car taxied down a runway in Plattsburgh, N.Y., took off, flew for 37 seconds and landed further down the runway – a maneuver it would repeat about a half dozen times over the next two days. In the coming months the company, a Woburn-based startup called Terrafugia, will test the plane in a series of ever-longer flights and a variety of maneuvers to learn about its handling characteristics.

The vehicle fold up its wings in 30 secounds and transform itself into a car.In the air ,the transition can cruise up to 725 kilometres at more than 185 km/hr.

It has front wheel drive on road and a propeller for flight .botj modes are powered by unleaded gasoline. Its intial cost is expected to be around $200,000(nearly 1 crore),says company which has already orders for 60 vehicles.

The Transition, developed by former Nasa engineers, is powered by the same 100bhp engine on the ground and in the air.

Terrafugia claims it will be able to fly up to 500 miles on a single tank of petrol at a cruising speed of 115mph. Up to now, however, it has been tested only on roads at up to 90mph.
